American Spirit Arms Side Charger

The American Spirit Arms Side Charger Receiver is the latest evolution of the AR-15 platform. The ASA Side Charger Receiver features our patented non-reciprocating charging handle on the left side of the receiver. This means the shooter no longer has to break cheek weld or take the rifle off the shoulder to manipulate the charging handle, which can cut down the time it takes to perform a reload or malfunction drill. The Side Charger Receiver also makes the rifle much easier to use with magnified optics. The shooter no longer has to try to reach under an optic to charge the rifle or rely on extended latches that can catch on gear or cause traditional charging handles to flex.

All ASA firearms now come standard with the ASA Side Charger Receiver which gives you a highly functional, ergonomic, and optics ready rifle right out of the box. For those who want to build their own rifle the ASA Side Charger Receiver can be ordered stripped. Whether you are looking for a new firearm, building your ideal custom rifle or just want to rebuild an old rifle, the ASA Side Charger Receiver is the perfect component to provide enhanced functionality, ergonomics, and a unique look.

Side Charging Receiver Features:

  • The ASA Side Charger Receiver is machined from Aerospace grade 7075 T6 billet aluminum and is finished with tough, durable Type III hard coat anodizing.
  • The receiver features a Mil-Std 1913 top rail, M4 feed ramps , uses standard ejection port cover assemblies, and is compatible with most AR15 components to include bolt carrier groups*.

* Some components may require slight fitting. Bolt carriers must be modified to be compatible with the ASA Side Charger Receiver. The modification is a small notch machined into the front left side of the carrier. The ASA Side Charger Receiver can be ordered with a modified carrier or ASA can modify a customer’s carrier for a nominal fee. We can also provide schematics so qualified machinist and gunsmiths can perform the modification.
